Cyanuric acid (CYA) is white crystals, odorless, slightly bitter in taste, and hygroscopic. It is soluble in hot water, hot alcohol, pyridine, soluble in hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid but does not decompose. It is also soluble in sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide aqueous solutions, and insoluble in cold alcohol, ether, acetone, benzene and chloroform. Moderately toxic and irritating.
